The Major League Soccer or MLS is an American professional football league. The committee for the event was founded 31 years ago in 1993 but the maiden edition was played in 1996 with ten teams. Currently, MLS has 29 participants 26 from the United States of America and 3 teams from Canada. In total, 28 seasons of this exciting tournament have been played with LA Galaxy winning the most titles, followed by DC United and Columbus Crew with four and three titles each. The 29th season of the event is underway and fans are eager to know the players with the most goals in the MLS history. Star players like David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Thiery Henry, Lionel Messi. etc are now a part of the history of the Major League Soccer.
Former American center-forward Chris Wondolowski scored the most goals in MLS history. In 422 appearances across 17 seasons, he scored 174 goals. Playing for San Jose, he was the top goal scorer in the 2010 and 2012 MLS editions.
One of the greatest American footballers of all time, Landon Donovan gets 2nd place on the elite list of most goals in MLS history. Having played 15 seasons in 384 games, the midfielder cum forward netted 170 goals. He also has 136 assists in his name which is the most by a footballer in the competition.
Kei Kamara a Sierra Leonean striker has 149 goals in his name in 437 outings for 10 clubs in MLS, the third most goals in MLS. The skillful forward has only won one title in MLS, having been a part of the Kansas City in 2013.
