The greatest swimmer of all time, American athlete Michael Phelps has won the most Golds in the Olympics as an individual. In four editions from 2004 to 2016, he bagged a staggering 23 gold medals. During the Beijing installment 2008, the 6 ft 4-inch swimmer won an incredible eight golds, the most by an athlete in a single season.
