From 2008 to 2021, the Southpaw accumulated 5529 runs in 200 matches at a decent average of 33.10 while his strike rate remained an impressive 138.91. He is also the first player to make 5000 runs in the cash-rich league. He was the top run-getter for Chennai in their successful campaign in 2010 with 520 runs in 16 matches, including a match-winning half-century in the finals against MI.

The greatest captain in IPL history, MS Dhoni has made the second-most runs for CSK in the IPL with 5243 runs in 229 innings. Batting down the order, the wicket-keeper has won many games for the Yellow Army with his hard-hitting and pressure-taking ability. He maintains a stunning strike rate of 137.53 and has hit 23 fifties.

Proteas batter Faf Du Plessis served Super Kings for nine years between 2011 to 2021 and scored 2932 runs in 100 appearances, the third most runs for CSK in the IPL. He averaged 34.90 and had a decent strike rate of 132.07 for the Yellow Brigade. Faf was instrumental in winning the 2021 IPL for CSK, amassing 633 runs in 16 outings and ending as the second-highest run-getter. The ace batsman bagged the Man of the Match award in the finals against KKR for his fluent 86 off 59 balls.
