Rashid Khan Became The Highest Wicket Taker In T20
Afghan spin wizard Rashid Khan made history during MI Cape Town’s qualifier one game against Paarl Royals at Gqeberha by becoming the highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket. In his 461st game, Rashid surpassed Dwayne Bravo’s record of 631 wickets by dismissing Dunith Wellalage, claiming his 632nd scalp. He later took the wicket of Dinesh Karthik, finishing with figures of 2/34 in his four overs.
Rashid began his T20 career in 2015 and quickly became a household name with his impeccable googly and leg-break bowling. In 96 T20 internationals, he has taken 166 wickets at an average of 13.6, with the rest coming from various franchise leagues such as the IPL, BBL, PSL, Hundred, and CPL.
The Afghan spin maestro boasts a strike rate of 16.6, and the economy of 6.49 dictates his domination over the batters. He has also scalped 16 four-wicket hauls and four five-wicket hauls.
