Ravindra Jadeja Bid Adieu To T20 Internationals

India’s long-serving all-rounder across formats, Ravindra Jadeja bid adieu to T20 internationals just after the day of becoming the T20 World Cup champion on 30th June. Jadeja followed the footsteps of his teammates Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who called it a day in the format on the big day of T20 World Cup triumph. He took social media handles to notify the fans about his retirement.

Ravindra Jadeja Bid Adieu To T20 Internationals

Jadeja made his T20I debut in 2009 under the leadership of MS Dhoni against Sri Lanka and represented the country in 74 games, taking 54 wickets with the ball and making 515 runs with the bat. He registered his career-best figure of 3/15 against Scotland in the 2021 edition of the T20 World Cup in Dubai.

The left-arm spinner from Saurashtra took part in seven editions of the T20 WC and finally lifted the trophy in his last appearance in 2024 when India beat South Africa by 7 runs in a thriller in Barbados. In the recently concluded World Cup, his performance was not up to the mark but the management showed faith in his experience and let him play all the matches. In 30 games in the mega event, he has snared 22 wickets as the team always used him as a defensive bowler. Apart from this, he was quite handy with the willow in hand and a gun fielder with bullet throw and stunning catching skills.

Upon the rise of potential all-rounders like Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel, Jadeja thought it was the right time to stop playing the format. moreover, barring his bowling and batting, his fielding is something that will be missed thoroughly by the Men in Blue as it was unparalleled and jaw-dropping.
