Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) presented their retained players list for the IPL 2025 ahead of the mega auction in the evening on Thursday, 31st October like other teams. Their backbone and Indian cricket team ace Virat Kohli has been the top retention for a whopping INR 21 cr. They have also made two more retentions, a batter and a bowler.

The management of Bengaluru has decided to keep top-order batsman Rajat Patidar for an impressive INR 11 cr and the young Uttar-Pradesh seamer Yash Dayal for a decent sum of INR 5 cr in uncapped quota. Rajat scored 395 runs in 13 innings at a stunning strike rate of 177.13 while Dayal was effective with the new ball and picked up 15 wickets in 14 matches in the IPL 2024, helping RCB immensely to qualify to the playoffs.

RCB management will stick around these three players until the next IPL mega auction.

The fans were expecting the retention of the likes of Mohammed Siraj and Glenn Maxwell who picked up 15 wickets in 14 games and scored 52 runs in 10 innings respectively. Although you can not justify the ability of Maxwell given his power-hitting prowess in the middle and death overs in white ball cricket.

These three retentions which have cost them only INR 37 cr will now allow RCB to build their team with the remaining 83 cr from their purse of 120 cr in the hunt for their maiden IPL trophy. They can also use three RTMs to get back their players in the mega auction.
