Shahid Afridi’s IPL Salary

Former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi played only one season in the IPL (Indian Premier League) as Pakistanis have been banned in the IPL since the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. In the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008, Deccan Chargers picked him in the auction for INR 27108000. He featured in 10 games for the Hyderabad-based franchise and scored 81 runs with the highest score of 33 against Delhi Capitals while with his solid leg-spin bowling, he bagged 9 wickets with 3/28 against Rajasthan being his best.

Afridi was regular in playing xi for the Deccan Chargers, however, he lacked in producing match-winning performances for the franchise. The team management had big expectations from him given his antics in international cricket over the years. He was a pinch hitter and bowled superb leg-spin, including killer googlies.
