Who Won the Javelin Diamond League 2022?

Ace Indian track and field athlete Neeraj Chopra won the Gold medal in the Javelin event final in the Diamond League 2022 in Zurich. The 25-year-old recorded a monster throw of 88.44 meters in his second attempt, becoming the first Indian to win the Diamon League in any discipline.

Having participated in the overcast conditions, he started off with a foul throw but immediately made a turnaround with an 88.44-meter post, following it by a similar 88 meters. Chopra registered 86.11 and 87.00 meters in his fourth and fifth attempts and ended his turn with a mere 83.60 meters.

Neeraj defeated the 2016 Diamond League Gold medalist Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic to clinch the top spot while the latter bagged the silver medal with an impressive 86.94 meters throw.

The Bronze medal in the event went to the famous German athlete Julian Weber who measured 83.73 meters as his best attempt.

A total of six athletes took part in the finals in Zurich after qualifying through a series of Diamon League events that season.
