KeymasterRavindra Jadeja’s T20 World Cup 2024 Performance
Star Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja signed off from the T20 internationals in style with the T20 World Cup 2024 victory in the West Indies. However, the Southpaw did not have an event to remember. In seven innings, he only managed to take one wicket at a poor average of 106 but maintained an impressive economy of 7.57. With the bat, he played some useful knocks in the Super 8 and Semi-final of 9* off 5 balls and 17* in 9 balls against Australia and England respectively. Overall, he made 35 runs in five innings.
In the previous editions, Jadeja was used properly as the frontline spinner but the inclusion of Axar Patel and his reliable exhibition with the bat and ball took some responsibility off him. Skipper Rohit Sharma laid his faith in Axar more than Jadeja in the competition in both departments (bowling and batting). Hence, his light contribution did not hurt India’s chances of winning the trophy. Nevertheless, Jadeja’s fielding was top-notch as always, apprehended all catches well and his quick throws always kept the batters on their feet.
