KeymasterSmriti Mandhana Became First Indian Woman To Score Century In Three Formats
Indian women’s cricket captain Smriti Mandhana carved her name into the history books, becoming the first Indian woman to register centuries in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. The milestone came during the first T20I against England in Nottingham on 28th June, where her masterclass at the top of the order powered India to a dominant win.
Opening the innings, the elegant southpaw unleashed a blistering knock of 112 runs off just 62 balls, decorated with 15 fours and 3 sixes. Her innings laid the foundation for India’s formidable total of 210/3 in the allotted 20 overs.
England’s chase never took off, as Indian bowlers ran through their batting lineup to bowl them out for 113, handing India a thumping 97-run victory.
Mandhana’s century was her first in T20Is and only the second by an Indian woman in the format, following Harmanpreet Kaur’s feat. With this ton, Mandhana’s international century tally now stands at:
- 2 in Tests
- 11 in ODIs
- 1 in T20Is
- Total: 14
