Top Unsold Players In IPL 2025 Mega Auction
Top Unsold Players In IPL 2025 Mega Auction are –
Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw, The young sensation who was once hailed as the next Sachin Tendulkar did not receive a bid from any club. The 25-year-old U-19 winning captain had a base price of INR 75 lacs. In the last season of IPL, he could only muster 198 runs at 163.64 and in the domestic circuit also, he has been inconsistent and criticised for his fitness and lack of discipline.
David Warner
Former Australian opener David Warner went unsold in the mega auction after serving Sunrisrers Hyderabad for eight years and Delhi Capitals for seven years. Warner is the highest run-scorer among overseas players (6565) and led Sunrisers Hyderabad to their maiden IPL trophy in 2016. The 38-year-old has always made impactful runs in the opening position in IPL and his retirement from international cricket post-Australia’s elimination from the T20 WC 2024 might have refrained the teams from going for him, leaving the fans flabbergasted.
Shardul Thakur
Mumbai all-rounder Shardul Thakur failed to find a buyer in the recently concluded IPL 2025 mega auction. In the last two editions, the player with the ability to score runs and take wickets in clutch situations claimed only 12 wickets in 20 games and scored 134 runs. He even played his last international game for India in the 2023 World Cup. Shardul set his base price at INR 2 cr, he might miss the trick there as franchises were not looking to grab him for that much money.
Jonny Bairstow
English opener and wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow who is known for his flamboyant stroke plays at the top failed to find a team despite having a decent outing in the last season with 298 runs in 11 innings at 152. With the emergence of wicket-keepers like Phil Salt and Jordan Cox in the English side, It seemed like clubs also tend to pick the younger players.
