KeymasterYashasvi Jaiswal Became Fastest Indian To Score 2000 Test Runs
Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal etched his name into the record books by becoming the joint-fastest Indian to reach 2,000 Test runs, matching legends Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag. The milestone came during India’s second innings against England on Friday, July 4th, at Edgbaston, where Jaiswal scored a brisk 28 off 22 balls, following up on a composed 87-run knock in the first innings.
Yashasvi Jaiswal reached the 2,000-run milestone in just 40 Test innings, equaling the record held by Indian greats Rahul Dravid, who achieved the feat in 1999 against New Zealand in Hamilton—and Virender Sehwag, who matched it in 2004 against Australia in Chennai.
At just 23 years and 188 days, Jaiswal has already amassed five centuries and 11 fifties in 21 Tests, showcasing remarkable consistency and flair. His performances against England have been particularly dominant, scoring 932 runs in seven matches at an astonishing average of 77.66, including two double-centuries.
