Rachin Ravindra Hits Maiden Test Double Hundred
The new sensation of world cricket, Rachin Ravindra hits his maiden test double hundred against South Africa at Bay Oval in the 1st test of the South Africa tour of New Zealand 2024. The classy left-hander brought up his 200 in just 340 balls.
The emerging player of the 2024 World Cup completed his ton in the 1st day of the ongoing test. His innings full of patience and perseverance ended at 240 off 366 balls laced with 26 fours and 3 sixes. The Bengaluru-born batter became the fourth Kiwi batsman to convert his maiden century into a double century. It was his fourth test and in the previous three tests, he was not able to cross even the 50 run mark.
Rachin’s 240 is now the highest test score in a maiden test hundred by a New Zealand batter.
Earlier, skipper Kane Williamson also smashed a spectacular hundred on his return to the field after a severe injury. Their dual gigantic effort took New Zealand to a mammoth score of 511
