Only seven players have scored 5000 or more runs in IPL history. Suresh Raina was the first player to make 5000 runs in IPL. He reached this milestone in 2019 in 173 innings.

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is the latest addition to this elite list who completed 5000 runs in 2023 against Lucknow Supergiants in Chennai. He is also the first wicket-keeper to do so and took 208 innings.

David Warner

2016 IPL-winning skipper David Warner is the fastest batsman and the first overseas batter to amass 5000 runs in IPL. The Southpaw achieved this feat in 2020 in just 135 innings against KKR.

Virat Kohli

Indian stalwart Virat Kohli is the first batsman in the IPL to notch up 5000 runs for a franchise. The highest run-getter in IPL history touched this landmark in 2019, taking only two more innings than Warne which makes him the 2nd quickest to do so.

AB De Villiers

Former RCB player AB De Villiers is the fastest batsman to make 5000 runs in IPL in terms of balls faced. The 360 player faced only 3288 balls to score this much while Warner and Raina took 3554 and 3620 balls respectively.
