KeymasterArshdeep Singh Became The Highest Wicket Taker For India In T20I
Arshdeep Singh became the highest wicket-taker for India in T20I during the first t20 against England on Monday, 22nd January at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. He surpassed Yuzvendra Chahal who has 96 scalps in 80 games for India to achieve the feat.
The Punjab-born left-arm seamer was playing his 61st game and dismissed English openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett as his 97th and 98th victims to go up on the elite tally. He returned with an impressive figure of 2/17 in his four-over spell, helping India to bundle the visitors for a mere 132 runs which the hosts chased down easily in 12.5 overs by seven wickets.
Not to forget, the 25-year-old made his T20I debut against the same opposition in 2022, and since then, he has emerged as one of the best in the shortest format of the game. Especially, his ability to take wickets with the new ball has always kept India ahead in the game.
