Best Bowling Figure In T20 World Cup

Former Lankan mystery spinner Ajantha Mendis holds the record for the best bowling figure in the T20 World Cup. He took 6/8 against Zimbabwe during the 2012 edition in Hambantota while defending 182 runs for the hosts. The visitors got bundled for 100 riding on Mendis’s genius spin bowling and Lanka won the game by 82 runs.

In a low-scoring thriller game between Sri Lanka and New Zealand, Lankan left-arm spinner Rangana Herath returned with the figures of 5 for 3 at Chottogram in 2014, the 2nd best bowling figure in the T20 World Cup. Batting first, Lanka posted a meager total of 119 runs but sensational bowling from Herath and co helped Lanka to fold the Kiwis for 60 and win the match 59 runs.

Former Pakistani seamer Umar Gul registered the third-best bowling figure in the T20 World Cup in 2009, 5/6 against New Zealand at the Oval. His hostile spell aided Pakistan in restricting the Blackcaps to 99 and later they chased it down by six wickets and 41 balls to spare.
