Gautam Gambhir Quits Politics
Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir quits politics to fully focus on cricket again. The World Cup winner will be seen for Kolkata Knight Riders as a mentor in the 2024 IPL after resigning from the same post in Lucknow Supergiants earlier this year. This announcement came on Saturday morning from his X account.
Gambhir joined BJP in March 2019 and successfully won as a Member of Parliament from east Delhi in the contemporary election. His one rupee kitchen for needy people, making library, and installing machines to eliminate garbage will always be remembered by the people of East Delhi.
The left-hand batsman has requested BJP president JP Nadda to accept his submission of leaving politics, so that he can again integrate himself to his cricket commitments. He has also expressed his gratitude to PM Narendra Modi and home minister Amit Shah for giving him the opportunity to serve people.
