      Indian Women’s cricket team creates history on Sunday as they beat Australia for the first time in test cricket in Mumbai by 8 wickets in the one-off test of the Australian Women’s tour of India 2023.

      Winning the toss Australia came to bat first and posted 219 runs in the 1st innings Tahila McGtath’s smooth 50, Alyssa Healy’s 38, and Mooney’s decent 40. Pooja Vastrakar was the pick of the bowler for India in the first innings with 4 wickets while off-spinner Sneh Rana bagged 3 wickets. India’s turn in the 1st innings saw them score a mammoth 406 runs, thanks to the half-centuries from Mandhana, Rodrigues, Deepti, and Richa Ghosh.

      Post toiling hard in the 2nd innings, Australia again went on to the field with the aim of posting a big total on board, but they could only manage 261 runs riding on Tahila McGrath’s gritty 73 off 177 balls. Sneh Rana starred with the ball for the 2nd time, returning with the figure of 4/63, containing the important wicket of Ellyse Perry who was looking dangerous at 45.
