India’s Squad For Champions Trophy 2025

The ninth edition of the Champions Trophy 2025 will kickstart on 19th February in Pakistan, however, India will play all its matches at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. Recently, the BCCI revealed India’s squad for the Champions Trophy 2025, and Rohit Sharma will lead the side in the elite tournament while Shubman Gill has been rewarded with the vice-captaincy.

Mohammed Shami has returned to the side after being sidelined due to an ankle injury since the 2023 World Cup for which he had to undergo surgery  He will accompany Jasprit Bumrah whose availability is subject to his recovery from a back injury and Arshdeep Singh in the setup, however, MD Siraj has been excluded shockingly.

The management has given a green signal to Yashasvi Jaiswal who is yet to make his ODI debut for his incredible show with the bat in the last 12 months. The other batters in the side are Virat Kohli and  Shreyas Iyer. KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have been picked as the wicket-keeping options.

The need to contribute with both batting and balling has led the selectors to pick four all-rounders in the side. Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja are the experienced campaigners while Axar Patel and Washington Sundar will feature in their first Champions Trophy.

Left-arm leg spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been added to the side and it will be a massive boost for the Blue Army. Kuldeep with his variations will attack the opponents whereas Jadeja, Axar, and Washington will be used to stop runs from the other end.
