Irfan Pathan is an ex-Indian bowling all-rounder who achieved enormous success with his impeccable ability to swing the ball both ways. He had a fabulous career of 173 matches across formats, spanning 9 years from 2003 to 2012. He made his international debut in a test match against Australia in 2003 and played his last international match in the 2012 T20 World Cup against South Africa. His wicket tally reads 301 wickets with 9 fifers.

The Southpaw started his IPL career with Kings Xi Punjab now Punjab Kings in 2008 and played there till 2010. The left-arm swing bowler made his time in Punjab worth remembering by bagging 47 wickets in 42 matches where 2009 remained his best season with 17 wickets in 14 games.

Pathan moved to Delhi Daredevils in 2011 and stayed there for two more seasons. The Baroda-based all-rounder’s performance saw a dip in Delhi compared to the last three years in Punjab. Having appeared in 46 games for the Red and Blue, Pathan claimed only 29 wickets and scored 468 runs with the bat.

In 2014, Sunrisers Hyderabad secured the services of Pathan but his display was dismal, having taken only 4 wickets and made 55 runs in 10 outings. His last season in IPL was with Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The three-dimensional player did nothing significant as he went wicketless in both seasons.

Overall, Irfan Pathan took 80 wickets at an impressive economy of 7.78 and scored 1139 runs at a decent strike rate of 120.40 in 103 matches.
