The champions of the 2024 IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders revealed their retained players list for the IPL 2025 on Thursday, 31st October and they are the second team after Rajasthan Royals to retain all six players which means they will be without a RTM card in the forthcoming mega auction. The three-time title winners could not come to a conclusion with their last year’s trophy-winning captain Shreyas Iyer, propelling them to release him after his three-year stay with the franchise.

Rinku Singh

Kolkata has retained Rinku Singh with the top spot, signing him for a massive INR 13 cr. Rinku was earning only 50 lacs rupees in the previous season. The Shahrukh Khan-owned side has also decided to continue with the Windies all-rounder duo Sunil Narine and Andre Russell for INR 12 cr each. Narine particularly played a key role in winning the last season for the franchise, scoring 488 runs in 14 innings at 180.74 and taking 17 wickets with the ball, a complete all-round dominance. On the contrary, Russel could not justify his batting but performed extremely well with the ball, claiming 19 calps in 14 innings.

Varun Chakravarthy

Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has also extended his stint for INR 12 cr with the franchise after his incredible season with the ball where he accumulated 21 wickets in 14 innings, contributing significantly to their triumph.

Harshit Rana & Ramandeep Singh

The two uncapped retentions for the KKR have been Harshit Rana (4 cr) and Ramandeep Singh (4 cr). They both have received their India call-up recently. Rana snared 19 wickets in only 11 games at 13.31 in the 2024 edition while Ramandeep stepped up with some quickfire cameos and took some blinder catches on the field.

KKR will go into the auction with INR 51 cr from their allotted purse of 120 cr after selecting their main players in the retention despite spending only 57 cr. As the rules state that if a team retains all six players the cost for the first player will be 18 cr, 14 cr for the second, 11 cr for the third, 18 cr for the fourth, and 4 cr each for the two uncapped players.
