KeymasterMitchell Starc Became First Pacer To Take Fifer In 100th Test
Australian bowling ace Mitchell Starc became the first pacer to take a fifer in his 100th during the 3rd test against the West Indies on Tuesday, 15th July. He delivered a breathtaking spell of 6/9 in 7.3 overs against the hosts, helping the visitors fold the Men in Maroon for a paltry 27 runs, the second lowest in tests.
Before Starc, it was all the spinners who bagged a five-wicket haul in their 100th Test. The 35-year-old also shattered the record of legendary Muttiah Muralitharan , who previously held the record of best bowling figure by a bowler in the 100th test with his hostile 6/9.
Starc started his hunting from the very first ball in the second innings and picked up three wickets in his first over to leave the Indies reeling on 0/3. He returned in his second over and claimed two wickets, which completed his fifer in just nine balls.
