      MS Dhoni Test Runs

MS Dhoni is the only captain to win all three ICC white ball trophies- T20 World Cup 2007, World Cup 2011, and Champions Trophy 2013. The Ranchi boy made white ball cricket of his own and impressed everybody with his middle and death-over batting. Especially in ODIs, the man with over 10000 runs unleashed an onslaught whenever it was required and in every loose ball. MS made many fans around the globe with his unorthodox power hitting but the former Indian captain had a decent test career too.

MS made his test debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka in Chennai and amassed 30 runs. He scored his first test fifty in the 2nd test of the same series. Having played 90 matches, the wicket-keeper batsman notched up 4876 runs, averaging a healthy 38.09. He smashed 6 centuries and 33 half-centuries while 224 against Australia in 2013 in Chennai remained his best score, which is also the highest score by an Indian wicket-keeper in tests. The World Cup-winning player took retirement in the longest format very early in his career, at the age of 33 in 2014 against Australia.

Apart from his contribution with the bat, he affected 294 dismissals in tests, the most by an Indian wicket-keeper. Dhoni clobbered 78 sixes as captain in tests which is the highest by an Indian captain.
