Nepal’s Anil Shah Smashes 4th Fastest 50 In ODI

Nepal’s Anil Shah smashed the 4th joint fastest 50 in ODIs on 10th February, Saturday in Kirtipur. It took him a mere 19 balls to create the record.

Nepal was playing against Canada in Kiripur and it was the 2nd ODI of Canada’s tour of Nepal 2023. The hosts were chasing 286 and Anil went berserk on the visitors and hit them for 7 fours and 3 maximums to give a flier start to his team. His blitzkrieg 19-ball fifty is also the fastest 50 in ODI by a Nepal batsman. The flamboyant opener departed the very next ball after scoring the half-century.

Proteas legend AB DE Villiers holds the feat of fastest 50 in ODIs, having scored in just 16 balls against West Indies in Johnnesburg in 2015.
