Nitish Reddy Made His Test Debut

Andhra all-rounder Nitish Reddy made his test debut at the Optus Stadium in Perth in the first match of India’s tour of Australia 2024-25. Reddy got his test cap from ace Indian batter Virat Kohli and became the 315th player to play test cricket for India.

Reddy made his T20 debut in the last Bangladesh series in October and announced himself in style with a quickfire half-century and decent seam bowling in the event. The reason for his inclusion in India’s T20 setup was his incredible all-round display in the 2024 IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring 303 runs at 142.92 and taking three wickets to aid them to reach the finals. He even won the Emerging Player of the Year award for his brilliance on the field.

The SRH all-rounder featured in both games for India A before the start of the BGT series against Australia A and scored only 72 runs in addition to one wicket. Reddy has been preferred for being a fast bowling all-rounder in the Australian soil. Having a guy like him will help to maintain the balance of the team as India can play only one spinner due to fast bowing wickets in Australia.
