Phil Salt’s IPL 2024 Runs

English opener Phil Salt joined Kolkata Knight Riders for the IPL 2024 as a replacement for compatriot Jason Roy. His inclusion in the side turned out to be instrumental for Kolkata as he alongside Sunil Narine helped them to get off a flier start in almost every game. Salt took advantage of the first six overs of the powerplay by targeting the bowlers recklessly here and there. Featuring 12 group games before leaving the camp for national responsibilities, he amassed 435 runs at a staggering strike rate of 182.01.

He played some spectacular quick cameos in the marquee tournament which was highly beneficial for the team, leading them to chase many games as well as set huge targets batting first. The wicket-keeper batsman hit four fifties with an addition of 24 sixes and 50 boundaries. His highest score of 89* off 47 balls came against LSG at a 162-run chase at the Eden Gardens. He was a major savior for Kolkata Knight Riders to lift their third title.
