Sandeep Warrier Replaced MD Shami In Gujarat Titans
Sandeep Warrier has replaced veteran fast bowler MD Shami in Gujarat Titans for the 2024 IPL. Shami recently underwent a successful surgery on his right knee.
Warrier has been a part of Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past. He has played 5 games so far and bagged 2 wickets. So it will be big shoes to fill for Warrier as he will replace the spearhead of the GT bowling attack.
MD Shami was the highest wicket-taker in the previous edition with 28 scalps in 17 matches. He was one of the major contributors to take Gujarat to their 2nd consecutive finals. Moreover, Shami took the most wickets in the 2024 World Cup too and he preferred country over his knee pain, playing all games with injections.
Gujarat will begin their 2024 campaign on 24th March against five-time champions Mumbai Indians in Ahmedabad and Mohit Sharma will be the leader of their fast bowling corp.
