KeymasterSmriti Mandhana Became First Indian Consecutive Hundreds In ODIs
Star Indian opener Smriti Mandhana became the first Indian woman to hit two consecutive hundreds in ODIs during India’s 2nd ODI against South Africa on 19th June at the Chinnaswamy stadium. She also equaled compatriot Mithali Raj’s record for the most centuries in ODIs by an Indian woman with her sensational ton (7).
Earlier in the first ODI, Mandhana scored a fluent 117 runs off 127 balls, lacing with 12 boundaries and a six to help India post a decent score of 265 runs in 50 overs before the bowlers bundled the visitors for a mere 122 runs and registered a win by 143 runs. The Southpaw started in the 2nd game where she left off in the last game. Opening the batting, she went berserk on the Proteas bowlers and accumulated 136 runs off 120 balls, including 18 fours and 2 sixes. Mandhana also fabricated a 171-run stand with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who scored a brilliant 103* in 88 balls. Their collective effort took India to 325/3 after 50 overs.

It was Mandhana’s 7th ton in the format and she is only one century away from becoming India’s leading century scorer in Women’s ODIs.
