      Ace Australian batter Steve Smith has played in the IPL for six different teams and he has earned a total salary of INR 478296700.

      Smith started his international career as a leg spinner in 2010 and in 2013, he began batting at no 3 or 4 and turned into a full-time batsman after putting hard work in abundance and scoring many runs in domestic cricket. In 2010, Royal Challengers Bengaluru bought him for INR 1388700 as a replacement for Jessy Ryder. Kochi Tuskers Kerala picked him for INR 9200000 in 2011 but he could not play due to an ankle injury. He started featuring in games since 2012 after moving to Pune Warriors India for INR 10054000 and stayed there for one more year.

      In 2014, Rajasthan Royals acquired his services for INR 4 cr, and played for them till 2015. The Aussie batter had a mediocre run with the bat in these years, scoring 440 runs in 24 games at a decent strike rate of above 130. Rising Pune Supergiants added him to their team for 2016 and 2017. He made a total of INR 9.5 cr there. The 2017 edition was his best season in IPL, having scored 472 runs in 15 games. Smith missed the 2018 season due to the ball-tampering controversy.

      In 2019 and 2020, Rajasthan Royals retained him for INR 12.5 cr. He made 319 and 311 runs respectively in both seasons. Therefore, Delhi Capitals purchased him in 2021 for INR 2.2 cr. Smith has not found a team post-2021.
