Sunrisers Hyderabad Recorded Highest Ever Total In IPL
Sunrisers Hyderabad recorded the highest-ever total in IPL history during the eighth match of Tata IPL 2024 against Mumbai Indians at the Rajib Gandhi Stadium. They surpassed Royal Challengers Bangalore’s 263-run record which came in the 2013 IPL against Pune Warriors India to achieve this feat.
Being invited to bat first, Travis Head started explosively with his 63 off 24 balls. Then young sensation Abhishek Sharma joined the party and played a similar knock, amassing a quickfire 63 in 23 balls. Afterward, Henrich Klassen came to the pitch and he started from where left in the last match, taking the MI bowlers to the cleaners to play a blitzkrieg innings of 80 off 34 balls. Makram too contributed with 42* in 28 balls. The stand for the 4th wicket between these two Proteas batters was of 116 runs. On the back of these unparalleled innings, Sunrise3rs Hyderabad reached 277/3 in 20 overs, which is the highest-ever team score in the marquee tournament history.
