Tilak Varma Became Second Indian To Hit Back To Back Centuries In T20I

Young sensation Tilak Varma became the second Indian to hit back-to-back centuries in T20 internationals during the fourth T20 against South Africa on Friday in Johannesburg.  He first scored a spectacular 107* off 56 balls in Centurion and followed it by a thundering 120* off only 47 balls in India’s huge 135-run victory.

Tilak Varma Became Second Indian To Hit Back To Back Centuries In T20ITilak walked out to bat after the dismissal of opener Abhishek Sharma in the sixth over and unleashed an onslaught on the South African bowlers with a flurry of boundaries to race to the three-digit score in a mere 41 balls while staying on 120* in 47 deliveries at the end 20 overs, taking India’s score to a staggering 283/1. The Southpaw smacked ten maximums and ten fours in his explosive innings and stitched a massive partnership of 200 runs with Sanju Samson for the 2nd wicket who contributed with 109 off 56 balls in the game.

Varma became a part of history as the maiden instance of a full-member team getting two centuries from two players in the same innings in a T20 international. The 22-year-old with the ability of aggressive strokeplay seems to be sealing his place at no 3 in the Indian T20 setup, stamping his authority with two daddy hundreds in this position.
