Tim Southee Eclipsed Virender Sehwag On Most Sixes In Tests List

Veteran New Zealand bowler Tim Southee eclipsed Indian legend Virender Sehwag on the elite list of most sixes in tests on day three of 1st test against India at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Friday. The attacking opener had 89 sixes to his name in 104 tests for India while Southee now has 93 maximums under his belt in the longest format.

Southee came to bat at nine after the dismissal of Matt Henry and nobody could have ever imagined that from the score of 233-7, the visitors would conclude their 1st innings at 402. Southee began attacking the Indian bowlers ruthlessly after facing 14 balls, be it Kuldeep, Jadeja, or Ashwin, and played a stellar knock of 65 off just 73 balls en route to the important 137-run partnership for the 8th wicket with centurion (134) Rachin Ravindra.
