When Is Khamzat Chimaev’s Next Fight?

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the best mixed martial artists and a former freestyle wrestler who plays in the middle-weight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC. Using his effective freestyle wrestling skills which previously helped him to win three Gold medals for Sweden with solid strikes and kicks, he has established himself as a fighter to play against in the middleweight category, defining aura, domination, and strength.

Khamzat Chimaev’s next fight will be against the Australian-New Zealand fighter and a former UFC champion in his division Robert Whittaker at the UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi. The fight was previously scheduled for 22nd June 2024. However, due to some health issues, Khamzat had to pull out of the bout.

Khamzat was last seen in the Octagon nine months ago when he faced the American-Nigerian athlete Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 at the Etihad Arena. The bout was so intense and competitive that Khamzat registered a victory via majority decision. Whereas Whittaker fought Ikram Aliskerov who replaced Khamzat on 22nd June and defeated him with a technical knockout in the first round itself.

A comprehensive win against Whittaker could place Khamzat Chimaev in the conversation for the title in the middle-weight division of the UFC, given the fact that Robert Whittaker is a former champion. Whittaker has had face-offs with some good grapplers in the past but Khamzat is someone who has insane strength too so it would be a fight worth watching.
