Ben Stokes Became First English Player To Achieve Double Of 6000 Runs & 200 Wickets

One of the greatest all-rounders of this generation, Ben Stokes became the first English player to achieve the double of 6000 runs & 200 wickets in tests during the first test of the West Indies tour of England at Lord’s on 11th July. He joined the legendary list of likes of Barbadian cricketer Sir Garfield Sobers and Proteas Jacques Kallis as only the third person to do so.

In his first over of day 2, Stokes trapped Caribbean batsman Kirk McKenzie in front of the wicket and it was his 200th prey in the longest format of the game. Along with that, the English skipper also secured a double of 10000 runs and 300 wickets in international cricket as the first cricketer from England. The other players to accomplish the feat are Caribbean all-rounder Carl Hooper, Pakistani Shahid Afridi, Lankan Sanath Jayasuriya, Jacques Kallis, and Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan.
