KeymasterDavid Warner Retired From Tests
One of the mainstays for Australia in all three formats for over a decade, David Warner retired from tests on Sunday, 6th January after Australia beat visitors Pakistan in Sydney by 8 wickets and whitewashed them by 3-0.
The New South Wales opener made a spectacular 57 off 75 balls in his final test innings. He scored 34 runs in his first innings. Before the 3rd test match, the 2nd highest run-getter for Australia across formats hung his boots from One Day cricket.
Warner made his test debut 13 years ago against New Zealand in Brisbane. He ended his career with 8786 runs in 112 matches, averaging an impressive 44.59 with 26 centuries and 37 fifties under his belt. Warner’s highest score in the longest format of the game has been 335* against Pakistan in Adelaide.
The whole Sydney cricket ground stood on their feet and gave him warm applause for his glorious test career. The dynamite batter showed his acrobatics too with a blinder in the leg slip off Lyon’s bowling to get rid of MD Rizwan.
David Warner Retired From Tests
The Australian Cricket Association will definitely miss the services of the Southpaw in the format and filling his void will be huge task to be done.
