KeymasterJames Anderson’s Test Wickets
Ace English fast bowler James Anderson signed off from international cricket on a high note on 12th July with the hosts England taming West Indies by an inning and 114 runs at Lord’s inside three days. The Lancashire seamer made his test debut in 2003 against Zimbabwe at the same venue and went on to have an illustrious 21-year career with 704 wickets in 188 appearances with the best bowling figure of 7/42 against West Indies at Lord’s. His prowess in swinging the ball both ways in any condition consistently, especially in England helped him to become one of the greatest seamers of all time. The less talked trait about Anderson is his fitness which he ensured by grinding and training hard on the field and gym.
Anderson’s favorite opponent to play in the longest format was India, against them he claimed 149 wickets in just 39 matches at 25.47, including six fifers, followed by Australia who he traumatized with 117 wickets in the same number of games.
