Pat Cummins Became First Bowler To Take Two Hat-tricks In T20 World Cup

Premier Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins became the first bowler to take two hat-tricks in the T20 World Cup as he claimed his second hat trick in the Super-Eight game against Afghanistan in St.Vincente. In the previous game at the knock-out stage, he achieved the feat against Bangaldesh.

Cummins picked the first wicket in the last ball of the 18th over with a full-length slower ball in the form of Rashid Khan and then came back in the 20th over, taking two wickets in a row in the first two balls of Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib respectively to complete the hat-trick. Eventually, he finished with 3/28 in his four-over spell, helping the Aussies to stop Afghanistan to 148/6 after 20 overs.

The ace seamer also joined the elite list of four bowlers to claim two hat-tricks in T20 internationals and first Australian to do so. The other bowlers are Lasith Malinga, Tim Southee, Mark Pavlovic, and Waseem Abbas.
