IPL 2025 Mega Auction Date, Venue & Players List

After the retentions of all ten franchises on the last day of October, BCCI announced on Monday that the IPL 2025 mega auction will take place on the 24th and 25th of November in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 1574 players, including 1165 Indians and 409 foreign nationals are all set to go under the hammer in the auction to find a team in the lucrative league. 320 capped players, 1224 uncapped players, and 30 cricketers from associate nations have registered in the auction.

The big names from India whose respective franchises have released them in the IPL auction will be Shreyas Iyer (KKR), Rishabh Pant (DC), KL Rahul, etc. Mitchell Starc, Jos Buttler, and Jofra Archer will be up there for grabs among star foreign nationals.

South Africa has registered the most players in the forthcoming auction, 91 while from Australia 76 players will participate, followed by England (52).

Every team can form a maximum squad of 25 players and a maximum of 204 players will be sold in the much-awaited auction.

In a surprising turn of events, the 42-year-old seamer from England, James Anderson who recently retired from international cricket has registered himself for the first time in the IPL auction for a base price of INR 1.25 cr.

Punjab Kings have the biggest purse in the auction with 110.50 cr, having retained only two players. RCB has the second-biggest purse with 83 cr, followed by DC with 76.25 cr.
